The early days

Creativity has always been part of me. As a child, I loved sketching portraits and designing outfits, surrounded by flowers from my mum’s garden. Those early memories of nature and fashion illustration now inspire the delicate florals and expressive figures in my art.

A plot twist

At 20, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma just before starting university. Throughout chemotherapy, art kept me going. Ten months later, cancer-free, I pursued costume design, working on productions like The Lion King and E4's Skins. Those experiences shaped how I capture emotion and storytelling in my art today.

From costume to canvas

In 2013, I completed a Master’s Degree in Sequential Design and Illustration at Brighton University of the Arts. During this time, I transitioned my artistic practice from costume design to 2D art, experimenting with new visual languages and diving deep into digital painting. This period fueled my passion for exploring emotion and character-driven work, which led to exhibitions around the world, including at the Hove Museum and Art Gallery and the UN Bookstore in Guangdong, China.

A new direction

In 2015, my daughter Bella’s arrival changed everything. Her rare genetic disorder made every milestone a hard-won achievement. Juggling her care with my career, I started working from home as a graphic designer. After Freya’s birth and struggling with post-natal depression, I turned to art as therapy. What began as a personal outlet quickly grew—when a post went viral, I realised it could be the start of something bigger.

The next chapter

Now, my art is all about capturing life’s little moments—those bits of calm, joy, and connection we need in the chaos. As a mum and a modern woman, I get how important it is to find that balance. Through my work, I aim to create art that feels soothing and uplifting, like a reminder that we’re all in this together. This journey even took me to a fun milestone, exhibiting at Netflix’s pop-up marketplace for Disability and Inclusivity Awareness Month. It was a special chance to share my story and celebrate what makes us unique.
